moaning caverns
A groups of friends and coworkers went climbing through a cave on saturday. we rappelled down into the largest and most beautiful part of the cave and then proceeded on to a guided tour of the tiny tunnels below. everyone had on coveralls and hardhats with little lights on them. needless to say we all got bruised up, but the fun was well worth it. hmm, i dunno if it was worth the money though, but hey, ya gotta try it once, right? :)
after that (2.5 hour drive east) we drove up about another few hours to davis to celebrate a coworker's bday. our group of 6 ended up sleeping over comfortably at theresa's parents' house. it was actually a fun, albeit tiring day. we woke up earlier than theresa so we played frisbee and shot around. basically goofed off until lunch at a very excellent burrito place. susan kept reminiscing about the running on the green belt. sort of how i feel about running around ucla's campus loop. we raked the once beautiful, but now dead and troublesome leaves in front of the house and shopped a little at the vacaville outlets. i've found that the only brand of pants that is almost guaranteed to have pants that fit my fat butt is geoffrey beene. so i got a few slacks and a cute lil purse.
we ended the not by NOT going out for dinner. i proceeded to make an omelette when my roommate christophe told me about how our neihbor patty is cooking dinner for us. a french beef stew and homemade pesto with pasta. not to mention the homemade bread and leticia's creme brulee. hehehe.. i didn't know what to do. i mean i felt sorta bad so i whipped out some nestle cookie dough and made cookies. heheheh.. high class, eh. we had some wine and two different kinds of champagne. as usual, cheese was served with the bread and wine as well. my roommates are also brewing beer and are trying to collect as many bottles as they can. apparently they've taken a class and sterilize the bottles in the oven too!
on the green thumb front
my air plants are dying, and i've lost two lithops, but the other pitcher plants and venus fly traps are doing well, as are a few other various house plants i have. i forgot to feed churro 2 days in a row.. oops! bad mama. i held him today though and he seemed ok and a lot fatter than before. hope all my lovely friends are doing great and if you're in the area this month, let me know asap! my roommates and i are having a house party. :)
