wow! we just came back from a day trip to tahoe and it was really comparable to mammoth with the snow and all. sooo freakin sweet!!!! i got to use the new goggles may and tina got me. we ended up picking up a tahoe ride share buddy person thingy and since we only got 3 hours of sleep we weren't feeling to social (me, may, peter, caorline) i felt bad. we were like get in. see you here at 3:30, get out. hahahah. he was a beginner too.
the slopes at sierra were a little choppy but soo soft and so fun! nothing beats cutting through fresh powder. except maybe the hot tub afterwards or hot chocolate with bailey's.. hehehe.. that's kinda up there too.
i think i'm going to get a pass for next season. i'm not too sure about this season b/c i don't think i'll go that many times more to the same place.. not too sure. maybe the double whammy pass (sierra/ northstar)?
i'm trying to think through the past month and remember if anything happened. oh yeah! we got a team award at work so it was really nice (monetary sum) but taxes... ouch!
i think i started to like a guy, but then he started to like me and i got kinda scared.. i don't know what's wrong with me. i thought i wanted a bf, but then again i'm not so sure. i guess it's just me trying to focus on myself and things i want to do. i haven't even started using the airbrush yet. i so want to! i need to buy the paints online. i want to take an art class, a dance class, volunteer at the hospital, and further my education. i think i have to take chemistry and physics. while i'm taking those classes and volunteering i can decide if i want to do mechanical engineering or pursue a medical career. i know people always say not to be a doctor b/c of the risks and malpractice suits as well as the commitment, but i dunno.. i might be good at it and i really want to possess a gift that i can give. (i'm not famous so i can't use that for the good of mankind and i'm not rich so i can't buy everyone a car or a new body part/ tattoo.) everything in life is just so up in the air. trying to remember what i'm doing everything for. also, would you take a community college class even though the professor got terrible ratings? (chem and physics at de anza/ mission)

i just saw hellboy the other day. i actually liked it. :) i think a few things could have made the movie a bit better, but i still liked it. never read the comic book though. i also saw spiderman 2 this month and i loved it. the action shots were great! (dr octopus) susan got me the spiderman 1 lego set for christmas. it's so cool! one can recreate the scene where they do that "best kiss" where spiderman is hanging upside down. there is also the lab where peter parker got bitten and the lab where the green goblin is born!
you know what's really weird is lately i've been living to play basketball. i'm not really that good, but i'm trying to get better. it feels really good to get a great game going. i really want to join a league, but the closest one is in campbell. it's a really popular one so i might not even get in. i've still got turf toe, shin slints and my mallet finger is not totally healed. almost. it's a lot straighter than before.
i'm so happy about what i got my sisters for christmas. i got them some random stocking stuffers like the microwavable heatpacks, cute pink nalgene bottles, little sushi erasers, matching incredibles teeshirts, and dun dun DUN- the LEGOLAS Ken doll. hehehe. tight! they were so happy. i also got ingha the 512mb usb flash drive. sort of a xmas/ bday present. it should prove to be very useful in college. :)
hmmm, it's so bad, but in shopping for people you always end up shopping for yourself. i'm so happy, i found this garlic peeler (a rubber tube that you put cloves in and roll to take the skin off), and these little clips that hold the corners of down comforters on. i also got a silicone spatula to scrape every bit of brownie batter out of the bowl, a flexible cutting board, and a vector dc to ac converter. makes my car outlet a regular and consistent plug for laptops. ipods, etc... woohoo! oh yeah, at a white elephant gift exchange i ended up taking home a poker set from target that was worth $50. i decided to trade that in and buy the set from costco. i've also bought a whole bunch of new clothes. bad, bad arlene. i got really cute skirts for dirt cheap at then ann taylor in gilroy, a whole mess of basketball shorts (no more short shorts for bball), and a few cute dressy items from arden b at the great mall. what? still interested in what else i bought? wow, you must really be asking for it. i found a really tight family guy trash can for $3 at the serramonte hot topic. hahahha. and at best buy they had the simpsons dvd sets ... buy 2 get $10 off. i bought seasons 4 and 5. ingha ended up getting season 4 for xmas so i returned it and they let me keep the $5 off of season 5 even though i only ended up buying one dvd set.
oh wow, garden state is out! it's almost $19 at costco.. i'm hoping to hold out and see if it goes (ie: amelie) i haven't checked it yet either, but i hear sex and the city is buy 2 get $10 off at best buy this week. i think my sister and i are missing season 6 part II and season 1. we only had 4, 5, 6 part I, but then my roommate christophe kept breaking her dvd covers so he bought a dvd set for each one he broke. he ended up getting us season 2 and 3. i think. i would know if their friend flo hadn't borrowed them ALL without asking. hahahha, another topic.. people borrowing stuff without asking. to further complicate it, they're people who are friends of friends, who borrow stuff that isn't even really yours, it's someone elses' that you're borrowing.. makes me feel even worse. i dont' know how to reach her without my roommates.
anyhoo, want, want, want.. what about giving? hehehe.. so we can give back by shopping at teh salvation army! hahahha... i went there looking for a cool old school coat. i ended up with a duoflexd camera. those old school box types where you look down into the box to see the picture. wow. i've always wanted one. now i have to see if it works. it was so cheap too! even if it doesn't work, it looks so cool.

for some reason i'm really into baking/ cooking right now. the tri tip at costco is quite excellent. it was my first time cooking it and i wasn't sure what to marinate it in. i did soy sauce, lotsa chopped garlic and a lil sugar. couldn't find the black pepper in the house for the life of me. i fried it in a lil olive oil and it turned out sooo yummmy!
last night my father's uncle took us out to eat at morton's steak house near union square. really nice place. most of us had filet mignon with a few sides like asparagus and lyonnaise potatoes. the best part was dessert. godiva chocolate cake with a melted chocolate center. drool drool. and grand marnier souffle!!! the apple turnover wasn't so great. we shared 3 desserts with 7 people and it was perfect. i so want to perfect the souffle thing and make a million different kinds! but first i have a try and make the chocolate profiteroles... i messed up the batch at thanskgiving. i know i can do this b/c i've made them before in la. i wish i had an electric hand blender. :) just to knead the dough better.. :) you make these creme puff shells and fill them with vanilla ice cream. then you make chocolate sauce (ghiradelli chocolate!) and smother. proceed to stuff face. the end. (smile) mmm, mashed sweet potatoes sound great as well. arghhh drooooool. :)
i've been to tahoe on 4 trips in one month. 2 weekend trips, 2 day trips. dang it! shoulda bought that pass earlier!
