all day?

today and yesterday we are having these reviews at work and they last ALL DAY. by all day i mean 8:10 sharp to 6:40ish, only an hour and 10 minutes past schedule. plus some more if we have to. arghhh. and i'm the youngest one there so i'm taking notes in this meeting. the other young person doesn't have clearance yet. oh yeah, i'ts 1:30, why dont' we break for lunch? anyhoo, more of it today. i hope i don't fall asleep. sleep = fired. well not really, but it's really bad. at least i get to sit at the conference table while most sit around it.

OMG
last night the guy i'm seeing made pretty much one of the best tbone steaks ever while i took a shower after playing volleyball. he only used oil, salt and pepper. it was really cute too b/c he garnished it with my own dill that i've been growing. :) he even thought of appetizers. he bought some mixed mediterranean olives to go with my havarti and the fondue party's left over gruyere cheese. he arranged sliced pieces of bread around the plate and added a bowl of olive oil and vinegar. i'm not sure what wine goes well with this stuff, but we had a 2002 merlot from BV. i keep hearing that that was a good year. he's a pretty amazing guy...

Fondue (or fondon't) hahaha, i had to make that bad joke. ;)
sunday night we had a little impromptu fondue party. you rub the pot with a garlic clove and add a bit of milk to the shaved cheeses, raclette and gruyere. except for lazy people this translates to sliced cheese. you slowly add some good white wine, nothing too expensive or too cheap. then you can add a dash of pepper, salt and paprika to taste. we ate teh cheese fondue with bread. :)

for dessert we had loads of ripe strawberries from the Milk Pail Market in mountain view. $4.99 for i think what was 4 lbs? WOW, those dipped in ghiradelli chocolate. too bad i didn't have dark chocolate. we could have mixed it half-half.

kevin and tina brought more bread, cheese and rotisserie chicken!!! hahaha. just to fill us up. stephen brought over trader joe's fondue chocolate. i promise we'll use it next time :)

one day we'll have to set up meat fondue. :)
ok, time for work... boo!
