627 per a unit of shit & a website that doesn't work
i just got out of one of my engineering classes when i had a slight confrontation with my teacher. he apparently wasn't too pleased with the classes' first hw assignments and had graded us from 6/20 to 16/20. i got a 10/20. i noticed all the stuff he had marked me off for was actually on my paper so i decided to talk to him after class.boy what an ass
i thought he was such a nice guy and i was just thinking today, i wonder if he teaches any other classes. he's ok as a teacher, but he has experience in the field that i found useful.
i asked him about the stuff i got wrong and he said that even though all the items were there, i didn't mark them clearly enough. WTF. he didn't want to go searching through the whole list. i'm like, shouldnt' he know a business requirement when he sees it? he never told us to mark them, stupid mofo. and he said i misunderstood the problem. we were talking about the electronic parts that controlled the car, not the whole parts systems. so i admitted to being wrong (i think- he did write that problem) and then i asked him if it was possible for him to list out what deliverables he wanted when he assigned homework in the future so we knew exactly what to turn in. this isn't a fucking guessing game. the mofo freaking said no, this is how the real world is and it'll just take me some time to get used to his writing style. WHATEVER. then he says i should confer with my classmates if i'm confused and that emails are cheap and i should email him to clarify stuff. #1 how the hell am i supposed to know there's something to clarify when i think i'm doing it right. # 2 how do i ask him if there needs to be examples for something if he doesn't ask for them anywhere on the hw paper. should i email him to ask him if he needs a smack upside the head even though he never asked for it? #3 "develop a simple mathmatical model of the system for the primary operational requirement" should read "list the main simplified cost function" dumbass. my friend was asking me, "which one is the primary operational requirement?" EXACTLY. i don't fucking know either. thank you for punishing us for not knowing stuff b/c you didn't teach it.
my teacher insulted and belittled me, treated me like i was stupid, got defensive, and the worst part is he had only graded the 1st hw, and the rest is still to come. no wonder they only teach systems engineering every 2 years.
$627 a unit for this at santa clara?? fucking PLEASE, what BULLSHIT.
