Europe trip- Day 1
The first day of our trip and 30 min away from boarding our iceland air flight and the crew discovered that there was a serious crack in the plane's 737 windshield. so they put up everyone into hotels and delayed our flight until 8am the next morning. annabelle and i retreated to my mom's house...the next morning in a mad dash to the same gate with the same boarding pass we finally realize that the plane is not there. turns out the new gate is nearby, but then in the empty portal we see that our flight was delayed yet again until 1:45pm. upon further inspection i also see that our reschedule was listed as 6:30am... what the heck? where did 8am come from??
we did get a $10 breakfast voucher which sounded like a lot.. until we saw that an ice blended drink was about $5 etc...sat and read the us magazines for a long time...
annabelle's been stressed out that we'll miss our flight from paris to venice... hopefully everything will be ok... we did have to forgo our hotel in paris' left bank though.. that's about $68 bucks down the drain....
so now i'm in the CNBC store at the internet kiosk in the international wing. waiting and waiting. yay? for some reason i'm ok... probably because i'm finally done with my kehoe classes network securities and next level leadership. the latter was pretty good, but the former was wayyyyy to demanding workload wise. because i worked full time i was constantly up until the early hours of the day finishing up reading and assignments and always drained. even worse, i was never prepared enough for the class discussions and his method of "pick on you b/c you're my favorite" and "i'm doing this for your own good" and "i shouldn't have to tell a grad student what to do" techniques did not bode well with me. they seemed like coverups for his lack of professionalism and organization. he didn't have time to go over the syllabus so he didn't, he dind't update his syllabus from previous classes. he combined both of these classes into the same document recource website, just terrible. and i hate to say this about the guy's classes b/c he just seemed like such a nice and fun fellow. i felt like he was unfairly imposing work on us based on his last reviews that his classes are too easy. these classes should be about learning, not pouring yourself into silly projects that just work you. there should be more meaning with less requirement. he's also pretty defensive when i try to talk to him. i should thank him that hte NLL final wasn't an all out too consuming project and that i could complete it while i was in my all day sunday class.
that was a sad day too, this past sunday after studying literally all weekend long, i spent sunday in class from 8-4pm and when class let out i stayed an additional 3 hours to continue working on that dreaded security final. he gave us about 13 topics to write about.
when i return i'll have a big project to work on for my sunday class and some hw. yay. anyhoo, i want to relax and not think about much....
