In Memory of Kevin Kubomoto
i got a voicemail from ray saying he had some bad news... i got a sick feeling in my tummy as i was calling him back. turns out someone i had met in one of my ucla mba classes, someone who was a very dear friend to ray and others i have known, had passed away. the obvious questions enter my mind and i go so far as to elicit anwswers outloud... how... why... why did i assume i had all the time in the world to get to know him...
i've done this once before with another person at UCLA, Cynthia Rabuy aka "Snoopy" as us Unicampers knew her. Like kevin, she seemed like a cool person, we had enough in common, we said we'd hang out, but things never materialized... on the other end, sometimes things do materialize as was the case with one of the persons i love the most, elaine y. with elaine, we'd always say "let's hang out" but it never happened until one day when our paths crossed on strathmore and i invited her to a potluck my roommates and i were having that evening... since then she has been one of my most thoughtful and fun friends ever!
This is in memory of Kevin, someone i regretably never took the time to know, but judging from his website, blogs, choice of friends, activities and choice of major ;) i probably would have gotten along with very well.
